Well, it was Jeanine's Birthday Week! Enough said. Of course it would be full of fun! We met up with Joe and Brian on Wednesday and we went to culture outselves near Trinity College starting at Doyle's, then The Globe (where I met a dude who worked for Hostel World that proceeded to give me his business card. Awesomeness.) where I tried a Paulner's (expensive and not that great), and then off to the Porterhouse. Porterhouse is a very fun place with different atmospheres in one place. I personally enjoy the dancing the most. I especially enjoy our long walk back to our residence every time.
Thursday night, our traditional dinner night, we had the boys over for dinner. I had just heard about how the economy is doing and how it personally affected my future, so I really looked forward to the amazing dinner of homemade supreme extreme pizza, garlic knots, and Elizabeth's yummy m&m cookies turned into bars. The boys were so stuffed as 4 pizzas were made. Then a bit of Super Troopers was watched. All in all an early night as Galway and the Aran Islands were in our forecast for the weekend ahead.
Friday we went to class, 9am-1pm straight. We then had to book it to the bus station across Grafton street (intensely packed and busy, especially with all the crazy umbrellas when it rains!) to get to the bus. While we were on our way searching, we were not quite sure if we were on the right track and asked these two boys ahead of us that looked like they were traveling as well if we were going the right way. They said that were headed the same way and that we could follow them. We proceeded to talk and discovered that they were actually Conor's (the only boy in our class) roomates!! Way too funny!
Got a round-trip ticket for Galway (student 18 euros) and got the bus just in time. Turned out Kayleen and Elizabeth did not make the earlier bus, so they were actually on the bus with us! The bus ride was super long (4 and a half hours maybe 5) and we slept most of the way. We got off in Galway and headed to our first hostel experience in Sleepzone! It was not a bad place at all. There were some other roomates in our room, maybe Spaniards. We went and had dinner at the King's Head where I had chips for dinner. We were able to meet up with the boys, Adam, Jake, Joe, and Derrick along with his girlfriend Erica that turned out to be really nice. We also met two guys on the bus from the states heading to Galway. We met up with the guys in their room in the same hostel and were hanging out with them until going back out to the Kings head and another cool pub next door. To be continued....

Busy Day
So yesterday was another long day of class. We met with our Dean here at DIT and the Dean of International Affairs from Purdue. It was great hearing them talk to each other and I felt like we were paving the way for more relations between DIT and Purdue. I feel so monumental. Brid-Ann and the school have been so accomodating for us. The Purdue Dean was also very accomodating and told us to learn things on our own and grasp these opportunities. I am glad to have met him. We then hustled back after the meeting to our place and got ready. I wore my black dress with a sweater over and my new European black tights! :) I love dressing like them!
We then walked to the Luas Cowper stop near us. I felt like I was trick-or-treating because of the weather. It was a little windy and cold and rainy but there were leaves on the ground. :) The stupid Luas machine would not take Jeanine's money so we had to wait an extra 15 minutes before we could go to the boy's in Dundrum for dinner. The people checked our tickets on the train. They come outta no where! It was so cold. We got to the apartment after Kayleen slyly let us in :). The boys looked angry waiting for us for a few hours. We had tacos with some type of spice, I think it was curry. Whatever it was I think it was a special Puerto Rican spice. An Irish movie was popped in and we feasted on our meal. We then had some Puerto Rican cookies. I learned about some weird bird delicacies from France. We then played Catch Phrase out of a pot. I like to use my expansive vocabulary. We then came back after all done and took the Luas back. There were so many people going out!! Wednesday night is a popular night to go out!!

Rainy Day
Just another normal day at school. It was raining more today, so I guess it is the end of our beautiful weather. Last night we planned out our trip to Galway. Staying in two different hostels. One in Galway and one in the Aran islands. Both Jeanine and I will feel complete after this adventure. We are so excited!
Signed up to join rugby today! haha, don't really know what I was thinking.... I just like to try everything! Made breakfast for dinner with Jeanine. Yummy French toast, eggs and some new Irish (very salty) bacon. Had a few digestives...lol. Irish cookies that were actually really good. At least these chocolate kind. About to go to sleep. Tomorrow is a veryyyy long day! St James hospital, then a meeting with the Dean of International Affairs from Purdue with our Dean here, then dinner at the boys in Dundrum, and then party with our Irish students!! :) Soooo excited about that!

Second week of school - Monday
I hate Mondays. Walked my usual 3 miles to class at St. James Hospital. Jeanine and I left earlier today so we wouldn't have to power walk to class and get there looking all sweaty and disheveled. We had time to stop in for coffee and actually ran into Brid-Ann Ryan, our Dean woman. She mentioned meeting up with a Dean from International affairs from Purdue. We then headed back on our trek to St. James.
My highlight of the school day was getting some Starbucks coffee from the little cafe place next door in a really old building. We made our powerpoint for the undergraduate meeting. It is awesome except for my small fib in the beginning.... Had a new teacher tell us about our school and how he read about Neil Armstrong because he is from Purdue... Came back home. Feasted on raw veggies and pasta. Then we are currently planning our trip to Galway and the Aran Islands for October 11. My life will be complete after going!! I am going to get very little sleep because I want to see it all!! I hope it is all I expected and more!

The rest of the churchday
Okay, so not much too interesting happened the other day. Wrote some postcards, put them in the mailbox. So let me know when you get them!!! :) We watched the movie 10 things I hate about you. Great movie. I had never seen it before.

Churchday
Today we went to church. It is just a block away. I went with Adam and Kayleen. I was suprised that quite a few people wore jeans to church. There was also an unnatural amount of children there. We found out later that they were starting to get ready for their First Communion, so that explains it. I've also never seen so many little children having temper tantrums while the parents just chilled right there in church, or anywhere for that matter. It was a chaotic scene. But the music was so lovely and the kids were singing the songs, so otherwise it was very enjoyable, especially in such a gorgeous building.
I went to Tesco afterwards with the hope of finding some Greek yogurt. I have heard about it but have never tried it. I did not find it. I did find many other items as well as some delicious baked bread items. :) I came back and went on the computer, talked to some people, and am chilling now. I really want to go outside and hike or explore some where because the weather is sooo nice! Even though we walked 10 miles yesterday, I can't seem to get enough of it! I hear it is rarely sunny here and it is very sunny and warm at the moment. I do not like wasting such beautiful days! Well, that is all that I have for now, since this is my first post!
